“Farewell to Ne Muanda Nsemi: A National Tribute and an Enduring Legend”

The world is preparing to say goodbye to Ne Muanda Nsemi, spiritual leader of the Bundu dia Mayala group. After tributes paid in Kinshasa last December, the funeral program is taking shape for Kongo-Central. The collection of the body is scheduled for March 2, 2024 at the morgue of the Cinquantenaire hospital. Ne Muanda Nsemi’s daughter, Nzuzi Nsemi, shared details of the route that will take the funeral procession through different towns before the burial scheduled for March 4 in Sukumalombo.

However, adjustments were necessary. Initially planned, a tribute to Matadi had to be canceled due to the lack of authorization from the provincial government. Despite this modification, the farewells and honors to Ne Muanda Nsemi will continue in the localities where the procession will stop.

The disappearance of Ne Muanda Nsemi, which occurred in October 2023 at the age of 77, marks the end of an emblematic figure of the Congolese political-religious landscape. His influence and commitment have marked generations and his legacy will endure beyond his earthly life.

In this period of mourning and commemoration, Congolese people will come together to pay their last respects to Ne Muanda Nsemi and celebrate the impact he had on Congolese society. His memory will remain engraved in national history, recalling the diversity of visions and ideals that have marked the history of Congo.
