Congolese youth, particularly those in the city of Goma, are currently facing major challenges as the country faces Rwandan aggression perpetrated under the cover of the M23. In this delicate context, it is crucial that young people avoid tribal and manipulative discourses which only further divide the population.
The president of the political group “Biso Peuple”, Sandrine Kaseka, appealed to young people to stay away from these political maneuvers aimed at sowing discord. According to her, it is essential to remain united in the face of the common enemy and not to fall into the trap of sectarian discourse.
Furthermore, Sandrine Kaseka strongly condemned Rwanda’s support for the M23 armed group and called on the Congolese government to act firmly to protect the national territory. She stressed the importance of supporting the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC) in their fight against the aggressors and preserving the integrity of the country.
The violent clashes between the FARDC and the M23 have caused the displacement of thousands of Congolese, endangering the lives of many innocent civilians. In this context of crisis, it is essential that the population as well as the authorities realize the urgency of the situation and join forces to guarantee the stability of the country.
It is time for Congolese youth to show solidarity and resolve in the face of adversity, by rejecting hate speech and committing to the peace and security of their nation. The strength and determination they will demonstrate will be essential to overcome these challenges and rebuild a better future for all Congolese.
