During the last meeting of the Council of Ministers led by Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, the Minister of Hydrocarbons, Didier Budimbu, made a major announcement. Indeed, he declared that land and aviation fuel tanks belonging to the public hydrocarbon company, COBIL SA, will soon be made available.
These tanks will be installed at the international airports of Ndjili, in Kinshasa, and Bangoka, in Kisangani, with the aim of building up strategic stocks. To do this, Minister Budimbu requested authorization to set up an ad hoc Joint Technical Commission, including among others the Ministries of National Defense, National Economy, Hydrocarbons, Finance, as well as COBIL SA.
The main mission of this commission will be to make emergency decisions concerning these projects of undeniable strategic importance for the country.
