“Kinshasa Book Festival: A dazzling literary celebration for its 10th edition!”

The Kinshasa Book Festival, an unmissable literary event which opened its doors for its 10th edition at the Halle de la Gombe, was a resounding success this Saturday, February 17. With more than 1000 participants from all walks of life, the attendance testifies to the growing enthusiasm for literature in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

During the opening evening, the public had the opportunity to savor a poetic offering, offered by passionate donors such as Henri Kalama, Director General of the Academy of Fine Arts. The latter expressed his joy at participating once again in this event which celebrates imagination and literary creation.

Among the distinguished guests, Emmanuel Mabondo, a young 22-year-old author, aroused admiration as the youngest writer present. Its participation for the second consecutive year demonstrates the importance given to youth in the literature sector in the DRC.

Publishing houses also responded, including the Kivu Nyota publishing house based in Goma. The diversity of activities offered during the Book Festival, ranging from readings to shows and workshops, met the expectations of all audiences.

The next few days will also be rich in events, with conferences, dramatized readings and poetic performances planned in different cultural places in Kinshasa. The dynamism and creativity of this event make it an unmissable event for all literature lovers.
