“The biopic ‘Oppenheimer’ triumphs at the Baftas: Christopher Nolan crowned best director!”

The long-awaited biopic on the famous physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, soberly titled “Oppenheimer” and directed by the talented Christopher Nolan, brilliantly won no less than seven awards at the prestigious Bafta. This film, which retraces the tortured life of this emblematic character who was scientific director of the Manhattan Project during the Second World War, impressed with its cinematographic quality and its choice casting.

Christopher Nolan, already acclaimed for resounding commercial successes such as “Inception” and “The Dark Knight”, was finally crowned best director, receiving a well-deserved standing ovation. This triumph at the Baftas reinforces hopes of success at the next Oscars, where the film is nominated in five categories.

In addition to winning best film and best director, “Oppenheimer” also allowed its actors to shine. Cillian Murphy was crowned Best Actor for his remarkable performance, while Robert Downey Jr won Best Supporting Actor, 31 years after his previous Bafta for his role in ‘Chaplin’.

At the same time, other films were also honored during this ceremony. “Poor Creatures” by Yorgos Lanthimos won five Baftas, notably thanks to Emma Stone who won the best actress award for her eccentric performance. For its part, Jonathan Glazer’s “The Zone of Interest” won three awards, including best British film and best foreign language film.

This magical evening at the Baftas also highlighted poignant works such as the documentary “20 Days in Mariupol” or the animated film “The Boy and the Heron” by Hayao Miyazaki. The talents of British and international cinema were thus celebrated, offering the public a varied palette of emotions and discoveries.

Finally, the presence of Prince William, president of Bafta, brought a royal touch to the event, highlighting the importance of the film industry in British culture. It was a memorable evening where talent, creativity and emotion intertwined to celebrate the 7th art in all its forms.
