“LUCHA calls for the election of a competent leader to develop Kasai-Central”

The citizen movement Struggle for Change (LUCHA) recently launched an appeal to the provincial deputies of Kasai-Central with a view to the election of the governor. They urge them to choose a competent leader capable of developing the province.

In a statement to Radio Okapi, members of LUCHA express their concern about the need to choose a person whom the population trusts. According to them, it is essential that Kasaï-Central be represented by a leader capable of making the province emerge on the national scene.

Since the division of provinces in 2015, Kasaï-Central has faced many challenges. Despite the numerous geological resources available to the region, such as diamonds, gold, tin, iron and nickel, the province has yet to develop effectively. LUCHA members therefore emphasize the importance of carefully choosing the future leaders of the province in the upcoming elections.

Joel Minga, member of LUCHA, insists on the need to establish a new social contract with future leaders in order to guarantee the development of the province. According to him, it is crucial to support voters in their choice and to ensure the competence of the candidates who will run for the head of Kasai-Central.

In conclusion, LUCHA calls on the provincial deputies of Kasaï-Central to demonstrate responsibility and choose a competent leader, capable of meeting the challenges and developing the province. The movement thus wishes to contribute to the emergence of efficient governance, allowing Kasaï-Central to take full advantage of its resources for the well-being of its population.
