“Young Congolese: agricultural training and electric motorcycle factory create job opportunities”

News: Training of young Congolese in agricultural professions and establishment of an electric motorcycle manufacturing factory

The Minister of Youth, initiation to new citizenship and national cohesion, Yves Bunkulu, recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korean firm STARUS DRC. This initiative aims to train young Congolese in agricultural professions and to set up an electric motorcycle manufacturing factory.

The objective of this partnership is to create employment opportunities for young people and contribute to the agricultural development of the country. Through this project, Minister Yves Bunkulu wishes to respond to the desire of the Head of State to make agriculture a priority and to promote the professional integration of young people.

Training in agricultural professions will allow young people to develop their skills in this area and more easily access jobs in the agricultural sector. In addition, the electric motorcycle manufacturing plant will create new job opportunities for young Congolese.

Minister Yves Bunkulu underlines the enormous potential of the DRC in terms of market for agricultural products. With more than 60 million young people, the country offers a unique opportunity for Korean partners. Indeed, the DRC currently imports more than a billion dollars worth of food products, which demonstrates a significant need in this sector.

The partnership with STARUS DRC will also support the ministry’s agricultural brigades by providing more than 3,000 electric motorcycles. This will facilitate the travel and work of young people in the country’s agricultural centers.

Minister Yves Bunkulu welcomes the realization of this project and says he is ready to work on other initiatives aimed at promoting youth employment in the DRC.

For his part, the boss of STARUS DRC, Park Man Il, expressed his gratitude to the minister for this agreement and said he was ready to support the Ministry of Youth in the implementation of this partnership.

This training project for agricultural professions and manufacturing of electric motorcycles represents a real opportunity for young Congolese to access employment and contribute to the economic development of the country. Thanks to this partnership between the DRC and South Korea, many perspectives are opening up for Congolese youth.
