Goma, the volcanic city of North Kivu, will be the scene of the tenth edition of the Amani Festival, which will take place from February 16 to 18, 2024. This major cultural event will bring together festival-goers from all backgrounds around a common cause: expression of peace through music and dance.
After an edition relocated to Bukavu the previous year, the Amani Festival returns in force to the Ihusi village, in Goma. And to mark this anniversary edition, the organizers called on renowned artists who reflect the grandeur of the event.
Among the invited artists, we will find Tiken Jah Fakoly, emblematic figure of the reggae scene, known for his commitment to African youth and social justice. Tiken Jah Fakoly had already discovered Goma during the festival in 2015, and he will return this year to share his songs carrying messages of unity and peace.
Another artist who will set the festival stage on fire is Yekima De Bel Art, a talented slammer who preaches poetry and spoken rumba. His return to Goma to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Amani Festival promises strong emotional moments.
And headlining this tenth edition, we find Fally Ipupa, a true star of Congolese music. After five years of absence, the artist returns to the stage to thrill the Goma public with his festive songs celebrating the joy of living.
The Amani Festival, which is held every year in Goma, aims to bring together the people of the Great Lakes region through culture. This event offers a space for celebration and meetings, far from the daily problems and trauma of war, where festival-goers can think, engage and build a better common future.
Beyond the artists already mentioned, other prestigious guests will also enrich this special edition of the festival, such as the electronic music duo U&i, from Belgium, who skillfully mix house, techno and afro house in their distinctive sound. We can also count on the presence of the young Malian singer Hawa Diallo, known as “Black AD”, who was propelled onto the international scene thanks to the RFI 2022 Découvertes Prize.
The Amani Festival is not only limited to providing a moment of entertainment and celebration. It also aims to improve the image of Goma, eastern DRC and the Great Lakes region, by showing the world the desire of young and old in the region to build a better future and use their talent to achieve this.
Come to Goma to experience intense moments of music, dance and fraternity, in an atmosphere of peace and change.
