“Bereaved families in Mweso: “Wazalendo” resistance fighters unite against M23 terrorists”

The families of victims of the bombings of M23 terrorists in Mweso, in the province of North Kivu, have started to bury their loved ones under the vigilance of resistance fighters called “Wazalendo”. These attacks perpetrated by M23 terrorists aroused indignation among resistance fighters who decided to take control of the situation and pursue these terrorists responsible for the murders of women and children.

Shadrack Miruho, one of the Wazalendo resistance fighters, said the barbaric act had angered the local population, and their group was determined to fight for peace in the region, even without support from the international community. He said: “We are providing support to bereaved families so that they can bury their loved ones safely. We cannot tolerate these terrorists who kill women and children. We will continue our fight to impose peace at home, even without the help of this famous corrupt international community.”

According to a press release from the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC), M23 terrorists, supported by the Rwandan army, dropped bombs on the city of Mweso, causing the death of 19 people and injuring 27 innocent civilians. Loyalist forces managed to repel the terrorists, thus avoiding a greater number of casualties among the civilian population.

The locality of Mweso was the scene of numerous clashes between M23 terrorists and the Congolese armed forces, supported by “Wazalendo” resistance fighters. This fight for peace and security in the region continues to be a major challenge, but the resistance remains determined to protect the population and put an end to terrorist activities.

This situation once again raises questions about the role of the international community in resolving conflicts in the DRC. Despite calls for aid and sanctions against armed groups, some voices believe that the international community lacks the political will to truly support efforts to pacify and stabilize the country.

We can therefore hope that the resistance fighters will continue to fight for peace, and that more effective solutions to end the cycle of violence in the North Kivu region will be found. The local population deserves to live in peace and security, and it is crucial that the international community provides concrete support to achieve this goal.
