The power of education: MABIALA Ma-Umba calls on Congolese parents to promote living together

MABIALA Ma-Umba, general delegate for Francophonie in the DRC, recently issued a poignant appeal to Congolese parents, encouraging them to prioritize living together and to ban hate speech and all forms of discrimination. In a recent press release, he highlighted the crucial role of families in combating hate speech and tribalism.

According to him, parents have the responsibility to instill in their children the values of tolerance, openness, respect for the opinions of others, solidarity and non-discrimination. It is essential that parents, along with teachers, political leaders, community and religious leaders, and influencers like stars, journalists and media hosts, come together to teach children to work together, to create together and to live together, in order to build a stronger and more united Congo.

MABIALA Ma-Umba also highlighted the importance of education in combating hate speech and preventing violent acts. Indeed, education is one of the most effective means of promoting peace, cultural diversity and development. This is why he called for strengthening efforts in education, with an emphasis on inclusive, quality education accessible to all.

As part of this mission, the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) plays an essential role. As a framework for political consultation and a space for dialogue between states and governments sharing French, the OIF contributes to promoting peace, cultural diversity and education. It also intervenes in cooperation and solidarity between French-speaking countries, by promoting the exchange of expertise and good practices in education.

In conclusion, MABIALA Ma-Umba recalled that education plays an indisputable role in building a peaceful, respectful and inclusive society. Congolese parents have the responsibility to transmit these values to their children, in order to create a better future for all. By working together, we can build a stronger Congo, where respect and tolerance are at the heart of our society.
