The importance of remaining free in political decisions: appeal from the Common Front for Youth to President Tshisekedi
The Common Front for Youth (FCJ), led by Don Israel Mbuyi, recently held a press briefing to express its views on the ongoing political alliances within the Sacred Union in the Democratic Republic of Congo. While political groups seek to strengthen their alliances, the FCJ calls on the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, to remain free in his decisions for the future of the country.
The FCJ recognizes that political alliances are a reality, but it warns against the idea that these alliances can exert pressure on the Head of State to influence his decisions. According to Don Israel Mbuyi, it is crucial that President Tshisekedi can write his name in the annals of the Democratic Republic of Congo without being subjected to political manipulation.
With this in mind, the FCJ appeals to the President of the Republic not to give in to this pressure exerted by politicians. Front members emphasize that the Head of State has the exclusive right to appoint a government informant or trainer, and that he should not do so under the influence of external pressure. They believe that the will of the Congolese people, who brought Tshisekedi to power, must not be “confiscated” by political groups seeking to obtain positions and privileges.
The FCJ also underlines that Congolese youth are ready to support President Tshisekedi in the renewal of the political class. They express their wish to see young people actively participate in decision-making and be placed at the heart of political action. For Don Israel Mbuyi, it is imperative that anything that is done without the participation of youth be considered as going against the interest of youth themselves.
Pending the formation of the next government, the Common Front for Youth hopes that President Tshisekedi will reserve surprises and that he will actively integrate youth into his government team. They recall that the future of the country rests on the participation of all Congolese, but especially on the participation and commitment of youth in building a better future.
In conclusion, the FCJ calls for the freedom of decision of the President of the Republic in a context where political alliances are strengthening. They warn against the pressure exerted by certain political groups and plead for the active participation of Congolese youth in decision-making. They hope that the Head of State will demonstrate political will and that he will place youth at the heart of his action for the development of the country.
