Training of women leaders in Kasaï-Oriental by UCOFEM
As part of its peace, security and women’s empowerment program, the Congolese Union of Media Women (UCOFEM) organized training for 20 women leaders from the Kasaï-Oriental province. This event took place on Wednesday January 17 in Mbuji-Mayi, the capital of the province.
The objective of this training was to enable participants to develop their skills in the area of their income-generating activities and to work collaboratively for the benefit of the community. This UCOFEM initiative aims to professionalize these women leaders and provide them with the necessary tools to meet the challenges they face in their daily lives.
Ruth Biatshinyi, the provincial director of UCOFEM in Kasaï-Oriental, underlined the importance of this training at the start of the year: “This allowed us to already have a general idea of what awaits us in 2024, after a year 2023 marked by elections. This also allowed us to put in place strategies to revitalize the situation of women in our province.”
