As part of its peace, security and women’s empowerment program, the Congolese Union of Media Women (UCOFEM) organized training for 20 women leaders from the Kasaï-Oriental province. This event took place on Wednesday January 17 in Mbuji-Mayi, the capital of the province.

The objective of this training was to enable participants to develop their skills in the area of ​​their income-generating activities and to work collaboratively for the benefit of the community. Ruth Biatshinyi, the provincial director of UCOFEM in Kasaï-Oriental, underlined the importance of this training at the start of the year: “This allowed us to already have a general idea of ​​what awaits us in 2024, after a year 2023 marked by elections. This also allowed us to put in place strategies to revitalize the situation of women in our province.”
