Divorce and rumors: Sherine Abdel-Wahab sets things straight
Egyptian actress and singer Sherine Abdel-Wahab has responded to rumors that she is engaged in a new romantic relationship following her separation from her ex-husband, singer Hossam Habib.
Her lawyer, Hossam Lotfy, issued a statement saying that Sherine Abdel-Wahab closely follows what is said about her relationships with her friends, both in and outside the artistic world, and warns against the dissemination of fake news in an attempt to attract media attention and gain views on social media.
The statement added: “The artist threatens anyone who initiates rumors about her life with the aim of insulting her and distracting her from her artistic career with new songs. She has instructed her legal advisor to take appropriate measures to prevent those who seek notoriety to continue spreading these rumors.”
“The artist claims that her friendships are free from suspicion and interpretation, and her fans deserve her efforts to release new songs, as she is solely dedicated to her art at this time.”
An amicable divorce
Egyptian television host Amr Adib confirmed last December that Sherine Abdel-Wahab and Hossam Habib had filed for divorce after a tumultuous marriage that lasted more than five years.
The divorce between Abdel-Wahab and Habib was carried out calmly and peacefully, Adib added.
Abdel-Wahab deleted all photos of her with Habib from her Instagram page.
The singer previously revealed her collaboration with Habib on a project, announced during her participation in the “Masterpieces of Mogy” concert.
She said: “There is a project coming soon that will bring Hossam and I together, and to create something beautiful and artistic, it will definitely take time for it to be something new and different.”
