Handover of 4×4 vehicles to teachers in Mbuji-mayi, Kasaï Oriental, by the Minister of ESU
In an initiative aimed at improving the living conditions of university professors in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Minister of Higher and University Education (ESU), Muhindo Nzangi, recently handed over 4×4 vehicles to professors at the town of Mbuji-mayi, in the province of Kasaï Oriental.
The award ceremony took place within the grounds of the University of Mbuji-mayi in the presence of the academic staff and the ad interim governor of the province, Julie Kalenga. This delivery of vehicles is part of a series of actions undertaken by the Congolese government to demonstrate its commitment to improving the living conditions of teachers.
The government’s gesture was welcomed by the beneficiaries, who see this initiative as a means of recognition of their work and an improvement in their daily lives. Indeed, these new 4×4 vehicles will allow teachers to travel more easily and more comfortably, thus guaranteeing better availability and efficiency in their academic activities.
It should be noted that this delivery of vehicles to Mbuji-mayi follows a first phase launched in Kinshasa on August 1, 2022, where eighty all-terrain vehicles were handed over to university professors admitted to emeritus. This program to provide means of transport to teachers is an ambitious initiative which will gradually extend to all higher education establishments in the country.
This government action thus marks a desire to promote and support the Congolese teaching staff, who play an essential role in the development of education and in the training of future generations. By facilitating the mobility of professors, the government is helping to strengthen the quality of teaching and research in Congolese universities.
This initiative also testifies to the importance given by the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, to education and higher education as levers of development and progress for the Congolese nation. By investing in the well-being of teachers, the government is showing its desire to make education a priority and to support those who make it possible on a daily basis.
In conclusion, the delivery of 4×4 vehicles to Mbuji-mayi teachers by the Minister of ESU is an important step in the process of improving the living and working conditions of Congolese teachers. This demonstrates the government’s commitment to the teaching staff and its desire to guarantee quality higher education for Congolese students. It is also a strong signal in favor of education and the development of the country.
