“Free medical campaign offers new hope to patients suffering from chronic wounds in Kinshasa”

Dozens of patients suffering from chronic wounds, commonly called Mbasu, benefited from a free medical care campaign in Kinshasa. This initiative, led by French specialists in collaboration with Congolese medical staff, made it possible to provide care and treatments adapted to these patients.

The Dr, a specialist in wounds and healing, points out that many patients show signs of significant improvement. He also insists that the Congolese must understand that Buruli ulcer, or Mbasu, is a disease that can be cured with appropriate treatment. The causes of these chronic wounds can be multiple, ranging from diabetes to bacterial infections.

Patients also express their satisfaction with the care received. Cécile Ngele, one of the beneficiaries of this initiative, reports a positive evolution of her wound thanks to the treatments prescribed by specialists.

The management of chronic wounds continues at the Cahris polyclinic, with the participation of Congolese medical staff who have been trained by French specialists. Additionally, telemedicine is also used to offer remote medical assistance.

This medical care campaign was launched last December and ended recently. It has made it possible to improve the care of patients with chronic wounds in Kinshasa, thus offering hope of healing and relief for many patients.
