Enugu State Governor announces major progress during meeting with President Bola Tinubu

Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State recently unveiled his administration’s progress during a meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos. Since taking office last May, the main objective of his government has been to improve the standard of living of the population and review the efficiency of public services.

Governor Chime noted that one of the most important achievements of his administration was the provision of safe drinking water to every household in the state, mainly in urban areas. For those who do not yet have access to drinking water, a network of pipes is being extended to reach them. Moreover, the government is building 260 smart schools in all districts of the state and 260 first-level health centers also in all districts.

Another priority of the administration is to digitize administrative processes and public services to provide greater efficiency to the citizens of the state. This digital transformation aims to simplify procedures and reduce processing times, thereby improving user experience and the quality of public services.

As for the 2024 state budget, Governor Chime promises a transformation of the infrastructural landscape of Enugu State as well as a return to its past glory as an economic hub. He is confident that the revenues provided for in the budget will be achieved through the exploitation of available resources and the mobilization of domestic revenues of the State.

This meeting with President Bola Tinubu was also to extend Christmas and New Year greetings on behalf of the government and people of Enugu. The governor also took the opportunity to discuss the policies initiated by the President and their impact on ongoing projects in the state.

Governor Chime is making every effort to move Enugu State forward and meet the needs of its people by improving essential services such as access to clean water, education and health care. His ambitious vision for the future of Enugu State shows his determination to return the region to its position of economic leadership.
