According to Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, the accident occurred around 5:20 p.m. Speeding and reckless overtaking were the causes of this tragic accident. The vehicles involved are a Toyota bus with registration number TSE 266 XA and a Mazda bus with registration number FKJ 215 XX.
Of around twenty people involved in the accident, made up of 12 men and 3 women, two people unfortunately lost their lives and another was injured. The injured victim was taken to Idera Hospital, Sagamu, for medical treatment, while the bodies of the deceased victims were deposited at the mortuary of the same hospital.
The State Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, has strongly advised motorists to respect speed limits and exercise extra caution while driving. He recalls that dangerous overtaking increases the risk of serious accidents and loss of life. Road safety must remain a top priority for all drivers.
