The Ukrainian Air Force recently carried out an attack on a Russian Navy landing ship in Crimea. This action was prompted by suspicions that this ship was carrying Iranian drones used by Russia in its conflict with Ukraine.
The attack, which took place in the town of Feodosia, was carried out using cruise missiles of tactical aviation. Images circulating on social media show a spectacular explosion followed by a shower of flames coming from the Novocherkassk landing ship. The Russian naval base in the city was put on alert and residents had to be evacuated as a safety measure.
This action by Ukraine is part of a series of attacks targeting Russian military installations in Crimea. Indeed, since the start of the conflict between the two countries, Ukraine has intensified its strikes against Russian forces present on the peninsula. In April 2022, Ukraine had already managed to sink the cruiser Moskva, flagship of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea, during a similar operation.
Along with this attack, the Ukrainian Air Force also intercepted several Russian Shahed drones during a night attack in the Kherson and Odessa regions. These Iranian-made drones are widely used by Russian forces to carry out reconnaissance and strike operations in Ukraine.
This attack by Ukraine on a Russian landing ship represents a significant escalation of tensions between the two countries. While ongoing peace talks have yet to result in a lasting solution, it appears that both sides are willing to use any means possible to achieve their goals.
It is important to emphasize that events in Crimea and the region are still ongoing, and new information may emerge in the coming days. It is therefore essential to closely monitor developments and exercise caution in interpreting current events.
