New buildings of the National Pedagogical University inaugurated by President Tshisekedi
On Tuesday, December 19, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, inaugurated two new buildings at the National Pedagogical University (UPN) in Kinshasa. These new complexes, made up of 42 auditoriums, will house several faculties, including those of education, veterinary medicine, law and health sciences. They will also offer digital and physical libraries, offices and meeting rooms.
This work, entirely financed by the Congolese state, is the fruit of the efforts of President Tshisekedi in his desire to reform and improve the national education system. In recognition of his commitment, the Head of State was awarded an award of excellence from the entire UPN community.
This is President Tshisekedi’s second visit to UPN, after the inauguration last May of two rehabilitated residences on campus. These residences provide accommodation for students and thus contribute to improving study and living conditions on campus.
The inauguration of these new buildings at the UPN demonstrates the importance given by President Tshisekedi to education and higher education. By investing in quality infrastructure, it wishes to offer Congolese students optimal learning conditions and promote the development of education in the country.
This initiative is part of a series of measures taken by President Tshisekedi to promote education in the DRC. In addition to the construction of new university buildings, his government is also mobilizing to improve teacher training, strengthen access to education for all children and promote research and innovation in the field of education.
The inauguration of these new buildings at UPN is therefore an important step in the implementation of these reforms. It marks President Tshisekedi’s desire to make education an essential pillar of the country’s development and to give young Congolese the means to build a promising future.
By investing in education, President Tshisekedi affirms his vision of a prosperous Congo, where every citizen has access to quality education and has the skills necessary to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
