“The NGO DYCADEPEV offers food assistance and games to children in difficulty in the Beni childcare establishment”

Food assistance and games for children in the Beni childcare establishment (North Kivu)

Children in conflict with the law, housed in the Beni Child Care Establishment, recently received valuable assistance from the local NGO, Dynamique congolaise pour l’autonomie et le développement des Personnes Vulnerables (DYCADEPEV) . This assistance included 100 kilograms of corn and 40 kilograms of beans, as well as play kits for children.

The head of DYCADEPEV, Neema Syatimwa, underlined the importance of this food aid for the children, but also the objective of preparing them for an independent life. She said: “Leaving here, life will continue just as there is life here. If we had partners who support us with the approval of the Government, although you are in this care facility, we will come back to introduce you to professional professions. Because, when you leave here, life will continue just like when you are still here, there is still life.”

The mayor of Beni, Nyofondo JacobTekodal, received this assistance and encouraged the children to show discipline. He also indicated that some of them could be released soon, thanks to the study of their files by the prosecutor.

This DYCADEPEV initiative is part of the NGO’s regular actions in favor of prisoners, not only in Beni prisons, but also in other localities. It demonstrates the importance of supporting these children in conflict with the law, by offering them both material assistance and opportunities for personal development.

In conclusion, the food assistance and games offered by DYCADEPEV in the Beni childcare establishment are essential gestures to support these young people in difficulty. This allows them to have nutritious meals and to benefit from recreational activities that promote their development. Hopefully these actions inspire other organizations and individuals to support children in conflict with the law, in order to build a better future for them.
