Ivory Coast ready to host the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations
The Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire to Nigeria, Mr. Kalilou Traoré, reaffirmed his country’s desire to host the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in 2023. In an interview with the Press Agency Nigerian (NAN), Mr. Traoré affirmed that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the smooth running of the tournament.
The competition is scheduled from January 13 to February 11, 2024 and Ivory Coast is determined to make it a memorable event for the entire African continent. According to Mr. Traoré, all sectors of Ivorian society are mobilized to guarantee the success of this competition.
The government, under the leadership of President Alassane Ouattara and the Prime Minister in charge of Sports, has allocated a substantial budget for the establishment of the necessary infrastructure. Several stadiums have been built throughout the country to host the various matches of the competition. Everything was carefully planned and organized so that everything would be ready before the official opening on January 13th.
In addition to government authorities, the Ivorian population is also mobilized to welcome teams and fans from all over Africa. The tourism sector as well as the security sector are also involved in preparations for the competition.
Côte d’Ivoire works closely with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the various national federations to guarantee the smooth running of the competition. The ambassador stressed that all the necessary means have been put in place to facilitate the teams’ performance. The national teams will only have to worry about their sporting preparation, because everything else has been taken care of by the Ivorian government.
As part of the preparations, Mr. Traoré also visited the president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to establish close collaboration between the two countries.
Côte d’Ivoire is therefore ready to host the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in the best conditions. The country is doing everything it can to ensure that this sporting event is a real success and helps promote its image on a continental scale. Football fans can already look forward to this grandiose competition which promises to be memorable.
