“Presidential race in the DRC: Candidates intensify their electoral campaign across the country”

Candidates for the presidency of the Democratic Republic of Congo are continuing their electoral campaign with a view to the combined polls on December 20, 2023. Last weekend was marked by the travel of several candidates across the country.

Tony Bolamba, candidate number 7, went to Kisangani in the province of Tshopo. During his speech, he preached in favor of austerity, promising rigorous and responsible financial management if ever elected.

For their part, candidates Joelle Bilé, number 25, and Marie-Josée Ifoku, number 9, continue their campaign in Kinshasa, the capital. They are increasing their meetings and discussions with voters in order to present their respective programs.

Adolphe Muzito, number 24, chose to go to Mbuji-Mayi in the province of Kasaï Oriental. There, he promised to focus on the development of agriculture and to open up the Kasai region.

Jean-Claude Baende, number 6, preferred to go to Mbandaka, in the province of Équateur. He focused his speech on peace and development, affirming that stability was an essential condition for the progress of the DRC.

Félix Tshisekedi, candidate number 20, chose to go to Goma, in the province of North Kivu. In his meeting, he promised to end the war and liberate the territories currently occupied by the M23, supported by Rwanda.
