Miguel Kashal Katemb, Director General of the Regulatory Authority for Subcontracting in the Private Sector (ARSP), recently had the opportunity to meet several entrepreneurs during an event in Mbuji-Mayi. The objective of this meeting was to discuss the emergence of the middle class in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and to encourage the local population to engage in entrepreneurship.
During this exchange, Miguel Kashal stressed the importance of diversifying the economy of the Mbuji-Mayi region, moving away from dependence on Miba, a company that has long been considered “mom and dad”. He affirmed that the President of the Republic is resolutely committed to promoting entrepreneurship and encourages everyone to embrace this vision.
In addition to promoting entrepreneurship, Miguel Kashal also addressed the importance of respecting the law on subcontracting in the private sector and recalled the measures put in place for its application.
The entrepreneurs present at this meeting welcomed Miguel Kashal’s initiative to come to meet them and discuss subcontracting. They expressed their support for the vision of the President of the Republic and stressed the importance of initiatives aimed at stimulating the economy and development of the province.
The Intermediate Governor of Kasai Oriental province, Julke Kalenga, the President of the Provincial Assembly and other local authorities were also present during this meeting.
This meeting highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in the economic and social development of the DRC. By encouraging business creation and promoting economic independence, it is possible to support the emergence of a dynamic and prosperous middle class.
