Adolphe Muzito: A candidate committed to the integral development of the DRC

Adolphe Muzito, a former Prime Minister and current presidential candidate in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), is committed to ensuring the country’s comprehensive development on all fronts. As part of his electoral campaign, Muzito aims to liberate the DRC politically, diplomatically, economically and socially.

Born in 1957 in Gungu in the province of Kwilu, Adolphe Muzito has a degree in economics from the University of Kinshasa. He also held the position of Inspector of Finance for many years.

His political career led him to lead the delegation of the Unified Lumumbist Party (PALU) during the Inter-Congolese Dialogue in Pretoria, South Africa. During the transition, he sat in the National Assembly as a representative of PALU. In 2006, his party joined the presidential majority and Muzito was appointed Minister of Budget in the government of Antoine Gizenga.

He then served as Prime Minister of the DRC from October 10, 2008 to March 6, 2012. Subsequently, he was elected national deputy for the Kikwit electoral constituency during the 2011 legislative elections.

After distancing himself from PALU, Adolphe Muzito created his own political party called Nouvel Élan. Despite a refusal of his candidacy for the 2018 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) and the Constitutional Court, he is running again in 2023.

Adolphe Muzito’s program for the integral development of the DRC amounts to 300 billion US dollars over a period of 10 years. Its objective is to raise the country’s economy in order to improve the living conditions of the Congolese. He wants to guarantee decent working conditions and decent remuneration for all citizens.

In an interview with Radio Okapi, Adolphe Muzito shared the details of his ambitious program. It places particular emphasis on the development of infrastructure, the promotion of local entrepreneurship, the fight against corruption and the implementation of policies favorable to education and health.

In short, candidate Adolphe Muzito proposes an integral development project for the DRC which aims to improve the living conditions of the Congolese population. His experience as Prime Minister and his political commitment make him a serious candidate determined to bring positive change to the country. It remains to be seen whether voters will give him their confidence during the presidential election on December 20.
