Localized thunderstorms are also forecast during the day in parts of Imo, Abia, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.
On Tuesday, sunny and hazy skies are forecast over the North and North-Central parts of the country throughout the forecast period. Cloudy skies with sunny spells are also expected during the morning hours in inland Southern states and coastal cities. Later today, thunderstorms are expected over most of the southern region.
NiMet also points out that dust particles are in suspension and advises the public to take necessary precautions. People with asthma and other respiratory problems should be cautious of the current weather conditions.
The public is also urged to use caution, avoid driving or walking through floodwaters, as moderate to heavy rainfall can lead to flash flooding.
