“Egypt calls for international solidarity to end Israeli aggression against Palestinians”

Responding to current events also means taking into account international events which have a major impact on the lives of populations. Thus, on November 29, Egypt marked the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

This year, this day takes on particular significance as the Palestinians have faced merciless Israeli aggression for 45 days, in flagrant violation of international law. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted this aspect in a statement issued on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

Egypt reaffirms its full commitment and unwavering support to the Palestinian people in defending their cause, the statement said.

Egypt calls on the international community to take strict measures to end Israel’s ruthless violations against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in order to alleviate their suffering, the statement added.

Egypt also calls for a permanent and unconditional ceasefire in the enclave as well as the provision of humanitarian assistance in a sustainable and sufficient manner to address the unprecedented humanitarian tragedy suffered by the Palestinians, the statement said.

The International Day of Solidarity traditionally provides an opportunity for the international community to emphasize that the Palestinian question remains unresolved and that the Palestinian people have not yet achieved their inalienable rights as defined by the General Assembly. , namely the right to self-determination without external interference, the right to national independence and sovereignty, as well as the right to return to their homes and recover their property from which they were displaced.

It is necessary for the international community to demonstrate solidarity and concrete action towards the Palestinian people in order to put an end to this unjust situation and find a peaceful and equitable solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
