“Egypt Health Indicator Project: a revolutionary measure of healthcare quality in Egypt”

Launch of the “Egypt Health Indicator” project: a measure of the quality of health care

The General Council for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR) recently launched a project to measure the national performance of hospitals in Egypt, called the “Egypt Health Indicator”. This project aims to unify and measure health care quality indicators within health establishments in different sectors of the country.

During an expert meeting organized by GAHAR and the World Health Organization to launch the project, GAHAR manager Ahmed Taha highlighted the importance of this initiative. According to him, this project will make it possible to periodically measure the quality of health establishments in order to ensure sustainable improvement and to determine the strong points and weak points of these establishments.

He also emphasized that the GAHAR accreditation certificate is not an end in itself, but rather a quality application and a starting point towards continuous improvement. The “Egypt Health Indicator” project aims to establish a unified measurement benchmark to compare the performance of health institutions at the national and regional level. It will also make it possible to measure the effect of the application of quality and accreditation standards on the improvement of the health system in these establishments.

This project is of paramount importance in the health sector in Egypt, as it will ensure quality care and continually improve the country’s health system. By closely monitoring performance indicators, it will be possible to highlight problems and areas for improvement, which will contribute to better management of health facilities.

In conclusion, the “Egypt Health Indicator” project launched by GAHAR is an important step towards improving the quality of health care in Egypt. By providing a unified measure of health facility performance, it will identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement of the health system in the country.
