“The drop in the price of gasoline in Bunia: a boon for the inhabitants of the region”

The price of a liter of gasoline drops significantly in Bunia (Ituri), going from 10,000 Congolese francs to 4,000 Congolese francs. This drop follows the arrival of several tanker trucks transporting fuel in the region.

These trucks had been stuck for more than a week on the Pitso-Jina road due to the degraded state of certain sections, made worse by the rainy season. However, thanks to the efforts of the provincial government and a road maintenance provider, the trucks were freed and able to deliver their fuel cargo to Bunia.

Local people are happy about this drop in gasoline prices, because it means reduced public transportation costs and savings for motorcycle taxi drivers. Customers rushed to gas stations to fill up with smiles on their faces.

Daniel Mugisa, provincial president of oil importers in Ituri, welcomed the efforts of provincial authorities to resolve the situation and called on all oil companies to align with the new prices set by the national Ministry of the Economy.

Despite this drop in price, it is important to note that the rehabilitation work on the Pitso-Jina road to Iga-barrier is still continuing, with the aim of improving transport conditions on this road.

In conclusion, the drop in the price of gasoline in Bunia is excellent news for the local population. This will reduce transport costs and relieve motorcycle taxi drivers. However, it is important to continue road rehabilitation efforts to ensure safer and smoother travel in the region.
