“The Tshilejelu project is progressing: Soon a replacement company selected to continue work in the Grand Kasaï area”

The Tshilejelu project in the Grand Kasaï area is reaching a new stage in its implementation. Indeed, following the termination of the contract with the company GREC 7 last February, the government engaged in the search for a replacement company to continue the execution of this important project. The Minister of State, Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works, Alexis Gisaro, recently announced that the selected company will be revealed at the end of the contracting process.

The decision to terminate the contract with the company GREC 7 was taken due to its inability to respect its commitments within the framework of the Tshilejelu project. Currently, work is at a standstill and the project execution rate in the Grand Kasaï area is estimated at only 45%. This situation represents a major shortcoming, requiring rapid action from the government.

The isolation of the Grand Kasaï area is one of the main reasons for the low execution rate of the project. The transportation of equipment and materials poses a serious problem in this region. Minister Alexis Gisaro therefore underlines the importance of selecting companies truly established in this space, in order to ensure better completion of the project.

It is also important to highlight the achievements already accomplished within the framework of the Tshilejelu project in Kinshasa. Avenues such as Béatrice, Nganda Kilos, Mayala, Lukunga maternity ward, and many others have been rehabilitated, thus contributing to the improvement of urban roads in the Congolese capital.

The Tshilejelu project aims to rehabilitate and modernize urban roads in the provincial city of Kinshasa, as well as in the Grand Kasaï area. It includes the rehabilitation of 39.72 kilometers of urban roads in Kinshasa, as well as 101.77 kilometers in the Grand Kasaï area, including towns such as Mbuji-Mayi, Kabinda, Lusambo, Kananga, Mwene-Ditu and Tshikapa.

Despite the obstacles encountered, the government remains determined to carry out this essential infrastructure project for the development of the region. The imminent announcement of the replacement company marks a new stage in the realization of this work, in the hope of seeing a significant improvement in urban roads in the Grand Kasaï area.
