The president of the CENI wanted to reassure the Congolese that the elections would be held on December 20, 2023. He also called on the population not to trust rumors and to trust the actions undertaken by the CENI.
This trip to South Korea comes less than 50 days before the elections and marks an important step in the preparation of the electoral process in the DRC. Dénis Kadima’s visit allows us to see the progress made and to assure the Congolese population of the CENI’s desire to respect the electoral calendar set by the Constitution.
It is essential that the Congolese can exercise their right to vote in optimal conditions and in complete transparency. Holding elections after each five-year term is a key element of democracy in the DRC and it is essential that this process takes place in a fair and equitable manner.
The entire Congolese population as well as the international community will be attentive to the smooth running of these elections and the guarantee of respect for the democratic rights of citizens. The responsibility of the CENI is therefore immense and it will have to ensure that electoral materials are transported without incident to the various polling stations across the country.
December 20, 2023 will therefore be a crucial date for the DRC, marking the holding of elections and the expression of popular will. Let us stay tuned to future developments and support efforts to ensure democratic, transparent and inclusive elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
