“Humanitarian crisis in North Kivu: displaced people in Rutshuru territory desperately need aid”

The situation of displaced people from the Rutshuru territory to the Mighobwe village, in the Lubero territory (North Kivu), is alarming. For three weeks, several families have been living in deplorable conditions, without humanitarian assistance and lacking basic needs.

According to Samuel Kahamba, president of the local society, these displaced people join an already large number of displaced people who have been in the area since August, without any form of assistance. Families are cruelly lacking food and basic necessities, and their situation is becoming more and more precarious.

Some of these families have found shelter with host families, but they face great difficulty obtaining food. The situation is all the more worrying as the continued arrival of new displaced people further complicates their care in an already impoverished region.

Faced with this critical situation, Samuel Kahamba appeals to the government and its partners to provide urgent aid to these families in need. The displaced are fleeing clashes between the coalition of local armed groups and the M23 rebels, and it is imperative to help them quickly to relieve their suffering.

This situation highlights the urgency of an effective and coordinated humanitarian response. The displaced are in desperate need of food, medical care and shelter. It is essential that authorities and humanitarian organizations respond to this call and put in place emergency measures to alleviate the distress of these displaced families.

It is also crucial to find long-term solutions to end these forced displacements. Armed conflicts and violence in the North Kivu region continue to cause the exodus of many families, thus exacerbating the ravages of poverty and insecurity.

In conclusion, it is imperative to raise awareness and mobilize the international community to respond to this humanitarian crisis and provide solid support to the displaced in the Rutshuru territory. It is time to end their suffering and give them a better future.
