Human rights NGOs call for the involvement of the Head of State for the well-being of Salomon Idi Kalonda
In a recently published press release, several human rights NGOs requested the involvement of the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, in the case of Salomon Idi Kalonda, special advisor to Moïse Katumbi. These organizations ask the Head of State to guarantee Salomon Idi Kalonda access to appropriate health care in order to preserve his health and well-being.
According to NGOs, Salomon Idi Kalonda’s state of health is gradually deteriorating, as evidenced by various medical reports. Unfortunately, despite repeated requests from Salomon Idi Kalonda’s lawyers, no concrete response has been provided until now. The NGOs also deplore the attempts of the public prosecutor to impose a mobile room, while Salomon Idi Kalonda is still at the disposal of the military justice system.
These organizations consider that the involvement of the President of the Republic in this matter would be a sign of justice and national cohesion. They also remind the Head of State of his fight for human rights and his high sense of humanism.
Salomon Idi Kalonda was arrested last May for alleged intelligence with the enemy of the DRC. Since then, his health has deteriorated, and it is essential that he receives the care necessary to preserve his life and dignity.
NGOs therefore hope that President Félix Tshisekedi will pay particular attention to this matter and take the necessary measures to allow Salomon Idi Kalonda to benefit from appropriate health care.
