Marie Josée IFOKU is once again launching into the race for the supreme office of the Democratic Republic of Congo. As president of the Alliance of Elites for a New Congo (AENC), she submitted her candidacy file to the Candidature Reception and Processing Office (BRTC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI).
Marie Josée IFOKU, as the first female candidate in the presidential election, underlined during a meeting with the president of the CENI, Denis KADIMA KAZADI, her political vision based on the concept of “kombolization”. She explains that “kombolization” consists of breaking with the system of predation and bad practices that take place in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to Marie Josée IFOKU, the rupture she speaks of refers to the independence of the country, marked by a system of predation of its leaders. She believes that the Congolese people are often considered prey by those in power, and her goal is to end this system through her vision of “kombolization.”
During her interview with the president of the CENI, Marie Josée IFOKU also expressed her confidence in Denis KADIMA KAZADI, even offering her support to ensure transparent and legitimate elections. She hopes that this time things will go well and that the publication of the results will be done in a transparent manner.
The candidacy of Marie Josée IFOKU marks an important step in the participation of women in political life in the Democratic Republic of Congo. His commitment to a break with predatory practices and the defense of his vision of “kombolization” brings a new and different discourse in the race for the presidency.
While the coupled elections are scheduled for December 20, 2023, it will be interesting to follow Marie Josée IFOKU’s campaign and see how her vision of “kombolization” will be received by Congolese voters. In any case, his candidacy brings additional dynamics to an already highly anticipated electoral process.
