The night of Friday October 27 was marked by a bloody attack in the border town of Kasindi, located in the territory of Beni. ADF rebels targeted the central customs car park, causing death and destruction. Faced with this escalation of violence, the security forces reacted quickly, thus limiting the number of victims. The events took place around 10 p.m., when heavy gunfire rang out in the Congo ya Sika district. ADF rebels opened fire with light and heavy weapons for more than an hour. Their target: the central parking lot of Kasindi customs. Two trucks loaded with goods were set on fire and another tanker truck was riddled with bullets.
Faced with this violent attack, the security forces reacted promptly. The police, the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) and elements of the UPDF (the Ugandan army) launched a coordinated response to neutralize the attackers.
