Entrepreneur training: an opportunity to develop intra-African trade
President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi recently gave instructions to support the training of Congolese entrepreneurs with the aim of helping them exploit the intra-African market. This initiative, which will be implemented by the National Export Promotion Agency (ANAPEX), aims to enable economic operators from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to actively participate in intra-African trade within the framework of the Zone of African Continental Free Trade (AfCFTA).
President Tshisekedi thus emphasizes the importance of the African market for Congolese exports, giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to take advantage of the nine potential export markets accessible thanks to the geographical position of the DRC. He stressed that this training program will concern all provinces of the country, with the aim of promoting exports of all products of agricultural, agro-industrial, industrial and artisanal origin.
ANAPEX, as a public establishment, will play a key role in the implementation of this initiative. Created in 2020, the Agency’s mission is to promote Congolese exports and intensify trade with third-party economies.
It should be noted that this request for support for training entrepreneurs in the field of intra-African trade is an important step for the DRC. Indeed, the AfCFTA offers numerous opportunities to African countries to strengthen their competitiveness and economic growth. By developing the skills of Congolese entrepreneurs and supporting them in their export process to African markets, the DRC will be able to fully benefit from the advantages offered by the AfCFTA.
This initiative demonstrates the Congolese government’s desire to actively engage in the development of intra-African trade. By encouraging the training of entrepreneurs and providing them with the tools necessary to succeed in the African market, the DRC is strengthening its position as a major player in continental economic integration.
In conclusion, President Tshisekedi’s decision to support the training of Congolese entrepreneurs for intra-African trade is an important step towards the economic development of the DRC. By exploiting the opportunities offered by the AfCFTA, the DRC will be able to strengthen its economy, create jobs and contribute to the growth of Africa as a whole.
