“CUSO International rewards the best projects of young entrepreneurs in Kinshasa, offering an opportunity for economic growth in the Democratic Republic of Congo”

The Best Projects of Young Entrepreneurs in Kinshasa rewarded by CUSO International

The “Plural Talents” project, led by CUSO Internationale in partnership with the national entrepreneurship development agency (Anadec), recently awarded prizes to the best projects of young entrepreneurs in the city of Kinshasa. After following an intensive three-month training course on entrepreneurship, 64 young talents were certified among the 80 registered. Following the evaluation of their projects, seventeen young entrepreneurs were selected to benefit from a total funding of 19,000 US dollars, divided into four distinct categories.

The “Plural Talents” project aims to support safe, inclusive and gender-sensitive economic growth for vulnerable young people. It provides young entrepreneurs with a platform to develop their skills and realize their innovative ideas. Thanks to this project, many young Congolese have been able to engage in exciting and promising initiatives.

Richine Kapinga, country representative at CUSO International, is delighted with the success of the project: “It is a great pleasure to see that these young people are doing exciting things and undertaking successfully. We are relieved to see that it is possible and that we can support them in their entrepreneurial journey.”

The Deputy Director General of Anadec, Matthieu Tshimbumbu, reiterates his agency’s commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs: “Anadec is a partner of CUSO Internationale and we work together for the formalization of young entrepreneurs. We encourage all young people, whether they have been selected by CUSO or not, to get closer to us to benefit from our support. We work in synergy for the well-being of the Congolese.”

One of the beneficiaries, Louange Tusikila Mayala, electromechanical engineer and health technology entrepreneur, is delighted to have won this award: “My project consists of a smart autoclave running on a 12 volt battery, which makes it more accessible and practical . It is a great pride to have been awarded and I have devoted a lot of energy to this project. I am grateful to CUSO and Anadec for their support.”

After the success in Kinshasa, CUSO Internationale plans to extend the Talents Pluriels project to other cities, including Bukavu and Lubumbashi. Funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC), the project has a duration of four years and a budget of US$8,639,896.

This project is a real opportunity for young Congolese talents to develop their entrepreneurial skills and contribute to the country’s economic growth. Thanks to CUSO Internationale and Anadec, many young entrepreneurs will be able to realize their ideas and realize their entrepreneurial potential.
