Work to reconstruct the administrative building of the municipal house and develop two public spaces in N’djili, Kinshasa, is now underway. At a total cost of $15.3 million, these projects will allow the municipality of N’djili to acquire modern and attractive infrastructure.
The administrative building, as well as Place Sainte Thérèse, will be renovated to provide a better living environment for the residents of the town. The Chinese company WIETC was selected to carry out this work, which will last 18 months.
The reconstruction of the administrative building and the town square will represent an investment of $5.4 million. As for the work on Place Sainte Thérèse, it will cost $9.9 million. These investments demonstrate the authorities’ desire to modernize the municipality’s infrastructure and offer its residents pleasant and functional spaces.
The new administrative building will include not only the offices of the town hall, but also a police station, a pavilion housing a library, a cafeteria and public toilets. The renovation of the Municipal Youth Council building is also planned, in order to meet the needs of young people in the municipality.
Place Sainte Thérèse will also undergo significant developments, in particular landscaped areas. Sports and leisure facilities will be installed, such as a central football pitch with stands, training rooms, changing rooms, as well as a multi-purpose room and event space. These facilities will allow residents to benefit from modern infrastructure adapted to their needs.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works, Alexis Gisaro Muvunyi, underlined the importance of these projects as part of the Kin-Elenda project, which aims to make Kinshasa a modern and resilient city. He also recalled the partnership between the World Bank and the Democratic Republic of Congo for financing this work.
The establishment of these new spaces and infrastructures will give a new image to the commune of N’djili and will contribute to improving the quality of life of its inhabitants. These investments demonstrate the authorities’ desire to develop and modernize the country’s infrastructure, to meet the needs of the population and promote its social and economic development.
