Congolese and Ugandan forces score victory against ADF rebels
In a recent development, the ADF (Allied Democratic Forces) rebels are in disarray following the destruction of their strongholds in the Walese Vonkutu chiefdom, in Irumu territory in Ituri province. Joint FARDC-UPDF forces carried out aerial bombardments to neutralize the rebels, and this operation was very successful.
Joint operations spokesperson Col. Marc Hazukay confirmed the event and promised to provide more details later. Other Congolese and Ugandan soldiers are currently deployed on the front lines to pursue fleeing rebels, in order to ensure the safety of the local population.
According to information gathered, these latest rebel attacks in September led to the death of more than forty civilians and the destruction of around twenty houses. The local population, living in constant fear of the rebels, welcomes these advances in the fight against the ADF.
This victory is the result of new strategies put in place during the third phase of evaluation of joint FARDC-UPDF operations. Congolese and Ugandan generals have worked together to develop effective action plans to eradicate the ADF, which continues to sow terror in the region.
However, it is important to remain vigilant, because despite this rout of the ADF, there is still much to do to guarantee peace and security in the region. The Congolese and Ugandan armed forces will therefore continue their efforts to combat rebel groups and ensure the security of the populations.
This victory is a concrete example of the essential work carried out by the Congolese and Ugandan armed forces to protect civilians and restore stability in the region. There is no doubt that their determination and commitment will continue to bear fruit in the fight against armed groups that threaten the security of the population.
In conclusion, the rout of the ADF rebels in the Walese Vonkutu chiefdom is an important step in the fight against these armed groups. The joint FARDC-UPDF forces have proven their effectiveness in neutralizing rebels and will continue to implement strategies to eradicate this threat. It is a beacon of hope for the local population who aspire to live in peace and security.
