Marie Josée IFOKU: A vision of kombolization for the rebirth of the DRC

In the Congolese political landscape, a female figure is emerging with audacity and determination. This is Marie Josée IFOKU, president of the Alliance of Elites for a New Congo (AENC), who recently submitted her candidacy for the presidential election to the Office of Reception and Processing of Candidatures (BRTC) of the Commission Independent National Electoral (CENI).

Marie Josée IFOKU is the first woman to enter the race for supreme office in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Carrier of a political ideology called “kombolization”, it advocates the cleansing of anti-values and bad practices which have plagued the country since its independence.

During her interview with the President of the CENI, Denis KADIMA KAZADI, Marie Josée IFOKU spoke of her vision of kombolization as a means of breaking with the system of predation. According to her, the Congolese people were taken for prey by leaders who took advantage of their vulnerability. With her vision of kombolization, she proposes to put an end to this system and allow the rebirth of the DRC.

Kombolization, a concept that she developed in five points, is intended to be a vision of breaking with predatory practices. Marie Josée IFOKU is thus committed to working for the independence of the Congo from these harmful practices which have tarnished its history.

During her meeting with the President of the CENI, Marie Josée IFOKU expressed her confidence in the ability of this institution to organize fair and transparent elections. She symbolically offered her support and hopes that the CENI will put an end to the crisis of legitimacy that marked previous electoral cycles.

The candidacy of Marie Josée IFOKU thus brings a new dynamic to the Congolese political scene. By positioning herself as the first woman to run for president, she proves that people need a vision above all else, regardless of the gender of the person carrying it.

The road to the coupled elections scheduled for December 20, 2023 therefore looks promising in terms of diversity and choice for Congolese voters. The candidacy of Marie Josée IFOKU, with her vision of kombolization, offers an interesting alternative for the rebirth of the DRC.

It is now up to Congolese citizens to decide who they want to see lead their country. The electoral campaign promises to be rich in debates and issues, and Marie Josée IFOKU intends to make her voice and ideas heard for a better and fairer Congo.
