Marie Josée IFOKU: A committed candidate for the presidency of the DRC
The race for the presidency of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) comes alive with the arrival of candidate Marie Josée IFOKU, president of the Alliance of Elites for a New Congo (AENC). With her candidacy, she becomes the first woman to enter the race for supreme office in the country.
When submitting her candidacy to the Application Reception and Processing Office (BRTC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), Marie Josée IFOKU was received by President Denis KADIMA KAZADI. During this meeting, she presented her political vision based on “kombolization”, a concept that she developed and which seeks to put an end to the anti-values and bad practices that are rampant in the country.
According to Marie Josée IFOKU, it is essential to choose a vision rather than a person because of their gender. “Kombolization” represents a break with the system of predation that has prevailed in the DRC since independence. According to the candidate, it is time to put an end to this system which considers the Congolese people as prey and to promote governance based on integrity and transparency.
During her meeting with the President of the CENI, Marie Josée IFOKU also expressed her support for the electoral process and called for transparent and legitimate elections. She offered her support to President Denis KADIMA KAZADI to clean up the CENI and guarantee fair and equitable elections.
With her candidacy, Marie Josée IFOKU hopes to bring a wind of renewal to the DRC and restore hope to the Congolese people. Her vision of “kombolization” is based on five key points that she will develop in due course.
By presenting herself as the first female presidential candidate in the DRC, Marie Josée IFOKU embodies the courage and determination of Congolese women to play a key role in building a better future for their country. Her candidacy marks an important milestone in political history and testifies to the evolution of Congolese society towards greater equality and participation of women.
The road to the presidential elections of December 2023 therefore promises to be rich in issues and debates. The candidacy of Marie Josée IFOKU enriches the political landscape and opens new perspectives for the future of the DRC.
