The construction of the Ndjili communal house is a highly anticipated project as part of the improvement of Kinshasa’s neighborhoods. After the launch of the construction project of the INPP Vocational Training Center in Maluku, this new stage marks a significant step forward in the transformation of the city into a modern and resilient metropolis.
As project owner, the Minister of State, Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works, Alexis Gisaro Muvunyi, underlined the importance of this construction for the commune of Ndjili. He is convinced that these new works will give a new image to local institutions and will contribute to enhancing the architectural heritage of the town.
The Ndjili municipal house construction project includes the reconstruction of the administrative building, the development of the public square and the rehabilitation of other buildings. Among the new features, there is the construction of a police station, a pavilion housing kiosks, a library, a Red Cross area, a cafeteria and public toilets. In addition, the Municipal Youth Council building will be renovated to meet current needs.
Place Sainte Thérèse will also be the subject of landscaping work. Sports and leisure facilities will be installed, such as an event space, a football field with stands, training rooms, changing rooms, an administrative area, public toilets, a multi-purpose room, a ticket office, a security post and an infirmary.
This work will be carried out by the Chinese company WIETC, with a total cost estimated at 15,300,000 USD. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months.
The Kin-Elenda project, which includes the construction of the Ndjili communal house, is an initiative supported by the World Bank. With a budget of USD 500 million for its first 5-year phase, this project aims to finance projects with a direct impact on the population and to contribute to the eradication of poverty. It is part of a programmatic approach over a period of 15 years, for a total investment of 1.5 billion USD.
The construction of the Ndjili communal house is therefore one more step towards the modernization of Kinshasa and the improvement of the living conditions of its inhabitants. This important project will allow the municipality of Ndjili to put on its most beautiful dress and become a symbol of modern architecture and quality standards. The local population will be able to benefit from new infrastructure and public spaces, thus promoting the social and economic development of the municipality.
