New president of the Katanga Football League: Jacques Mwamba Ndumba
Saturday October 13, 2023 will remain a memorable day for Katangese football. Indeed, after having served as interim president since the death of former president Ernest Mwamba, Jacques Mwamba Ndumba was elected to take the reins of the Katanga Football League (LIFKAT) for a 4-year mandate.
Obtaining unanimity of votes with a total of 53 votes, Jacques Mwamba Ndumba was able to convince the members of the umbrella body of Katangese football of his skills and his determination to advance football in the region.
In his inauguration speech, Jacques Mwamba Ndumba pledged to work ardently for the interest of Katangese football. He declared: “I promise you that my team and I will do everything possible to raise the level of Katangese football and make our teams shine on the national and international scene.”
The new president will be supported in his duties by a committee made up of football enthusiasts, all driven by the same objective of making Katanga a true breeding ground for talent and contributing to the development of sport in the region.
Among the members of the committee, we find Clémence Ngoy, elected deputy executive secretary. His appointment reflects the importance given to parity and diversity within LIFKAT, thus showing a desire to promote inclusive governance.
