“Leopards U-20 Ladies of the DRC: Impressive qualification for the third round of the 2024 World Cup qualifiers”

The DRC national under-20 women’s team, the Léopards U-20 Dames, continue their impressive run in the 2024 World Cup qualifiers. Their draw against the Copper Queens of Zambia allowed them to qualify for the third round of the competition.

The return match took place at the Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa, a week after a first leg match which ended in a draw of two goals everywhere at the Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka. The two away goals scored by the Congolese were decisive, thanks to the away goal rule which counts double in the event of a tie.

This qualification is a great success for the Leopards U-20 Ladies who will now face the Burundi team in the third round of the qualifiers. To continue this momentum, the team’s coach, Charles Haalubono, expressed his wish to benefit from adequate resources from the government in order to properly prepare for the next matches.

The final phase of the 2024 World Cup will be held in Colombia, in Latin America. The U-20 Ladies Leopards of the DRC have the opportunity to achieve a feat by qualifying for this prestigious competition. Their journey so far demonstrates their talent and determination to proudly represent their country on the international stage.

We will be sure to closely follow the next stages of these qualifiers and support the Leopards U-20 Ladies in their quest for historic qualification for the 2024 World Cup. Congratulations to them for their performance so far and good luck for the rest of the competition!
