FDNT 2023 selection test: Encouraging academic excellence in the DRC
Every year, the Denise NYAKERU TSHISEKEDI Foundation organizes a selection test for finalists who have obtained a score of at least 85% on the state exam in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This test aims to identify the best students and offer them a scholarship to continue their university studies.
In 2023, the selection test took place at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN). The First Lady and President of the Foundation, Denise NYAKERU TSHISEKEDI, went there to encourage the winners and encourage them to give the best of themselves in order to obtain the prestigious Excellentia scholarship.
To benefit from the Excellentia scholarship, candidates must obtain a score of at least 70% on the level test. This scholarship offers full support for university studies for five years, whether abroad or in the DRC.
This year, 234 students out of the 254 eligible from the Ministry of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education participated in the test which included one hundred questions. These candidates came from different cities in the DRC such as Lodja, Tshikapa, Kananga, Mbuji-Mayi, Goma, Lubumbashi, Mbanza-Ngungu and Kinshasa.
The Excellentia Program currently has 241 scholarship holders, 82 of whom are enrolled in foreign universities and 159 studying in the DRC. This initiative of the Denise NYAKERU TSHISEKEDI Foundation thus contributes to promoting academic excellence and providing students with the means to develop their potential and pursue a promising career.
By encouraging young talents and offering them higher education opportunities, the Foundation contributes to training a new generation of competent and committed leaders for the development of the DRC.
