“Upcoming reopening of the Mabanga Center: a major step forward in the fight against sickle cell disease in the DRC”

Renovation and modernization of the Mabanga Center in the Democratic Republic of Congo

The Mabanga Center, located in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is currently being renovated and modernized. Under the leadership of the first lady Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, the work is progressing in accordance with the established schedule, and the reopening of this structure is planned for next October.

This mixed medicine and anemia center, which is also known as the Mabanga Center, is the only public facility in the region to care for sickle cell patients. This inherited genetic disease primarily affects red blood cells, leading to serious medical complications.

After 7 months of work, the Mabanga Center will be equipped with new facilities meeting the strictest health standards. This renovation will provide patients with an environment conducive to their healing, as well as adequate care. In addition to the services already offered, such as mixed medicine, new services will also be available, such as ophthalmology and dentistry, to meet the specific needs of patients.

The fight against sickle cell disease is a cause that is particularly close to the heart of first lady Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi. It is with this in mind that the rehabilitation and modernization work of the Mabanga Center was launched last February. Thanks to the support of the Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation partners, patients will be able to benefit from quality care and an environment conducive to their treatment.

The Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation is also committed to raising awareness of sickle cell disease, with an emphasis on early detection and prevention measures. It also supports other patient care structures, with the aim of significantly improving the quality of life of people affected by this disease.

The renovation and modernization of the Mabanga Center represents a major step forward in the fight against sickle cell disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Thanks to these improvements, patients will have access to quality care and medical facilities adapted to their needs. First lady Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi continues to be actively involved in initiatives aimed at improving health conditions in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
