The launch of the new collection of caricatures entitled “Fin de course” by Congolese artist Thembo Muhindo Kashauri, alias KASH, took place at the National Museum of the DRC this Friday, October 15, 2023. This fourth album of political drawings brings together the works of KASH which made it famous.

With his satirical and humorous style, he sketches the failings of political actors and denounces abuses of power. His drawings are an expression of the dissatisfaction and concerns of the Congolese people.
The collection, organized into seven chapters, presents a detailed reading of the political events which marked the history of the DR Congo between 2012 and 2018. It is in line with journalistic chronicles, offering a historical account of the facts and characters key to this period.

This collection of caricatures is also an opportunity to award the prizes for the “Draw Me Peace” competition, highlighting the talent of cartoonists committed to peace.
KASH, originally from Butembo in North Kivu, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa. For more than 30 years, he has produced numerous publications as a press cartoonist and caricaturist. He is considered a reference in the DRC and Africa, having won numerous awards for his work.
His artistic commitment goes beyond political satire, extending to the promotion of comics and reading for young people. He has also exhibited his works around the world, testifying to the impact of his art beyond Congolese borders.
With “Fin de course”, KASH continues to use his talent to raise awareness and spark debate on political news in DR Congo. His work demonstrates the importance of artistic freedom in society and the power of humor to denounce injustices.
In conclusion, the collection of caricatures “Fin de course” testifies to the talent and commitment of the Congolese artist KASH.
