Compliance control in Lualaba companies and application of the law on subcontracting
The province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is currently undergoing a compliance check in its companies, supervised by the Director General of ARSP (Agency for the Regulation and Surveillance of Service Delivery), Miguel Kashal Katemb. This initiative aims to ensure compliance with the law on subcontracting in the private sector as well as its enforcement measures.
Since Monday October 2, 2023, ARSP inspectors have been dispatched to companies in the region to check the compliance of their secondary activities and the quality of their subcontractors. The main objective is to ensure that subcontracting contracts are respected and that companies favor Congolese companies majority owned by Congolese shareholders, in accordance with the vision of President Félix Tshisekedi.
The first control was carried out at the Kamoa mining company, where ARSP inspectors requested the presentation of subcontracting contracts, as well as information relating to the shareholders of the subcontracting companies. In addition, they were also interested in business opportunities for Congolese subcontracting entrepreneurs.
After Kamoa, ARSP inspectors will continue their controls in all mining companies in the Lualaba region, as well as in other sectors of the national economy. Their mission is to ensure strict compliance with the law on subcontracting and to guarantee the development of the Congolese economy by promoting local businesses.
The Director General of the ARSP, Miguel Kashal Katemb, underlined the importance of enforcing these laws and working within the vision of the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi, which aims to lead the country towards long-awaited economic independence. by the Congolese population.
