Compliance control in Lualaba companies by ARSP in October 2023
Under the supervision of the Director General of the Price Regulation and Surveillance Agency (ARSP), Miguel Kashal Katemb, inspectors were dispatched to Lualaba to carry out compliance checks in companies. This initiative is part of compliance with the Law on subcontracting and the promotion of Congolese companies.
The control mainly aims to verify the regularity of the secondary activities of the companies as well as the quality of the subcontractors to whom the contracts have been awarded. Miguel Kashal Katemb insisted on the importance of enforcing this law in order to favor companies with predominantly Congolese capital, in accordance with the vision of the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi.
The first inspection was carried out at the Kamoa mining company, where inspectors requested subcontracting contracts, the identities of shareholders of subcontracting companies as well as business opportunities for Congolese entrepreneurs. This control will be followed by other inspections in the various mining companies and those operating in various sectors of the national economy.
The objective of these controls is to ensure compliance with the laws and to contribute to the economic independence long awaited by the Congolese population. The Director General of the ARSP stressed that these measures are part of the vision of the Head of State to lead the country towards development and to promote local businesses.
By ensuring compliance with the Subcontracting Law, ARSP hopes to encourage job creation and the development of the Congolese economy. It is essential to highlight local entrepreneurs and encourage their business opportunities with a view to sustainable development and economic progress.
This compliance check in Lualaba companies shows the Congolese government’s desire to enforce the legislation on subcontracting and to encourage the emergence of Congolese companies. This is an important step towards the country’s economic independence and towards a more inclusive and equitable economy.
