CAN 2023: the DRC faces a difficult group with Morocco and Zambia
The 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) is fast approaching and the draw has some surprises in store for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Placed in group F, the Leopards will have to face strong opponents such as Morocco and Zambia.
This draw is not favorable for the DRC which is aiming for an honorable performance in this competition after missing the last edition in Cameroon. Group F promises to be very competitive and requires careful preparation from the Leopards from now on.
Group F is made up of Morocco, reigning CAN champion, Zambia, winner of the 2012 edition, and Tanzania. The DRC will have to compete against experienced and formidable teams, which will make each match crucial if they hope to advance to the next stage of the competition.
The DRC’s journey in this CAN will therefore be strewn with pitfalls, but this should not discourage the Leopards. On the contrary, it should be a motivational engine to surpass themselves and show their true potential on the continental scene.
The CAN final phase will take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024 in Ivory Coast, offering participating teams an opportunity to shine and proudly represent their country. The DRC, historically a strong nation in African football, now has the opportunity to reassert itself and regain its place among the best teams on the continent.
This difficult draw only adds to the suspense and excitement surrounding the next CAN. Football fans will certainly thrill to the rhythm of the meetings between the big teams and closely follow the performances of the DRC.
The Leopards just need to prepare thoroughly, work hard and stay focused to be ready to take on the challenge that awaits them in Group F of CAN 2023.
