“The Excellentia scholarship in the DRC: the selection of tomorrow’s future leaders”

Candidates for the 5th edition of the Excellentia scholarship recently took their selection test at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This event attracted the attention of the country’s first lady, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, who went there to encourage the candidates.

A total of 234 eligible students from the Ministry of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education participated in this test which included one hundred questions. These students came from different cities in the DRC, such as Lodja, Tshikapa, Kananga, Mbuji-Mayi, Goma, Lubumbashi, Mbanza-Ngungu and Kinshasa. It is important to note that only finalists who obtained at least 85% in the Exetat, the secondary school leaving exam in the DRC, were selected to take this test.

The Excellentia Program offers a full scholarship to the winners, covering their university studies for five years, whether abroad or in the DRC. Currently, the program has 241 scholars in total, of which 82 are enrolled in foreign universities and 159 are studying in the DRC.

This selection test marks a crucial step in the journey of Excellentia scholarship candidates. The results of this test will determine the future beneficiaries of this prestigious program. The first lady encouraged the candidates to give their best and seize this opportunity to pursue their studies with excellence.
